Outbound Routes
Outbound routes are used for outgoing calls. They are required to make outgoing calls outside the network.
To set up outbound routes, at least one Trunk must have been created beforehand.
Configuration
Click on the "Connectivity" tab and select the "Outbound Routes" menu item.

To add an outbound route, click on "Add Outbound Route".

Route Settings
The following settings can be configured for a new outbound route:
- Route Name:
<Name of the route> - Route CID:
<The phone number displayed for an outgoing call> - Override Extension:
<Use the extension's phone number> - Route Password:
<Password for this route> - Route Type:
<Type of the route> - Music on Hold:
<Music on hold> - Trunk Sequence for Matched Routes:
<Trunk order for outgoing calls>
Under "Route Type," you can choose whether this route is used for emergency numbers or within the company. Emergency numbers are automatically routed and therefore do not need specific configuration.
FreePBX always attempts to transmit the call via the first trunk in the trunk sequence.

Dial Patterns
Under this tab, you can select dial patterns to be used for this outbound route:
- prepend:
<If the pattern matches, add this before the number> - prefix:
<If the pattern matches, remove this from the front of the number> - match pattern:
<The pattern to check> - CallerID:
<The caller ID displayed for an outgoing call with the corresponding pattern>
This allows for various ways to dial a phone number.

Import/Export Patterns
Under this tab, you can import a CSV file with dial patterns or export an existing pattern.

Notifications
Under this tab, various notification options can be configured:
- Notification when:
<When a notification should be sent> - Email To:
<Which email address the message should be sent to> - Email From:
<Which email address the message should be sent from> - Email Subject:
<Subject of the email> - Email Body:
<Content of the email>

Additional Settings
The following configuration can be entered:
- Call Recording:
<Enable or disable call recording (Force / Yes / Don't Care / No / Never)> - PIN Set:
<Secure outgoing calls with a PIN>
If "Call Recording" is enabled, an "Announcement" must be played to the caller informing them that the call is being recorded.

Finally, click on "Submit" and "Apply Config".
