Numbers and Porting
Porting
Can I keep my phone number?
- For customers with CH numbers:
- For customers with AT numbers:
Transfer your number(s) 100% to sipcall (full porting). Your landline connection will be canceled if desired
(complete full porting).
Please note that this may also result in the cancellation of any existing internet connection.
If you wish to keep your internet connection, you need to request a partial full porting
.
A full porting of your existing number is unfortunately not possible.
What is partial full porting?
With partial full porting, your number is fully ported without canceling other services (e.g., internet connection). This is not always technically possible.
I have a cable connection. Can I port my number to sipcall?
Yes, full porting of your number is possible without any issues, provided it is a Swiss phone number.
Note:
If you only want to port a single number to sipcall and do not yet have a sipcall account, it is recommended to order a sipcall home account.
More information can be found on our website under the "Order" tab or at this link
Select the option "For Private" and then "sipcall home".
I want to port my number(s), but I have already canceled my connection. What should I do now?
The following information applies only to fully ported CH numbers:
If you have already canceled your landline before porting, please check your cancellation date and the porting date:
- If the porting date is before the cancellation date, there is no problem.
- If your number is canceled before the porting date, contact your previous provider immediately and request a delay in cancellation until the porting date.
Note:
- Porting can only be carried out with active phone numbers. Always ensure that the numbers to be ported remain active with your previous provider (reserved numbers cannot be ported).
- If your number has already been canceled, you have, depending on the provider, between 20 - 40 days after cancellation to request porting of your number. After this period, you will lose any claim to the number.
I want to port my number(s) to sipcall, how do I proceed?
The following information applies only to CH numbers!
- Analog / Single Number
- ISDN / DDI (multiple numbers)
To port a single number to sipcall, follow these steps:
- Open a new sipcall home account on our Website under the "Order" tab.
- After receiving your login credentials for your user account, you need to log in. Once logged in, you must order full porting separately (at this point, your number is only partially ported). You can initiate the order for full porting in the left navigation under the menu "Full Porting".
- After ordering full porting, you will receive a form that you must sign and return to sipcall.
- At the time of porting, your existing number will be fully taken over by sipcall.
- Open a sipcall pro or sipcall business account via our homepage (if you want to manage all types of numbers within one account).
You can do this directly on our Website under the "Order" tab. Click on "For Companies" and then choose between "sipcall pro" and "sipcall business".
- Log in to your user account after receiving your login credentials.
- Order the full porting for the desired numbers under the menu "Numbers" => "Add Numbers" => "Order Full Porting".
- After ordering full porting, you will receive a form that you must sign and return to sipcall.
- At the time of porting, your existing number(s) will be fully taken over by sipcall.
Important Notes:
The entire porting process takes approximately 3 weeks (it may take longer depending on the option, for example, if the cancellation period/contract term needs to be observed).
Important: Do not cancel your landline yourself. The cancellation is handled by sipcall (the signed form you provide serves as the cancellation of your existing connection, if cancellation is desired). Please note that all services/features associated with the connection may also be deleted. Some providers may require an explicit cancellation from the customer. Please clarify this with your provider.
Check with your subscription provider whether the cancellation has been forwarded to them.
Further information on porting can be found on our homepage at this link.
