Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about VoIP.

General FAQ

What do I need to make calls with sipcall?

To use sipcall, you simply need:

  • A sipcall account – register for free at sipcall.ch
  • An internet connection (Wi-Fi, LAN or, mobile data)
  • An email address for registration and account management
  • A SIP-compatible device – e.g., a mobile app, an IP phone, an adapter, a softphone or, an IP PBX
Does sipcall offer phone support?

Yes. sipcall offers phone support to all customers with the "sipcall business" subscription.

All other customers receive written support.

Can I make multiple calls at the same time using VoIP?

Yes. With VoIP, there is no limitation on the number of concurrent calls. You can make as many concurrent calls as you like.
The only limitation is the bandwidth of your internet connection. Additionally, the number of concurrent calls may be restricted by the device you are using.

Do I enter into any obligations when signing up with sipcall?

For the "sipcall business" subscription and international phone numbers, a 30-day notice period applies at the end of the month.

For all other subscriptions (sipcall free, sipcall classic, sipcall home, sipcall pro), you do not enter into any obligations when signing up with sipcall. There are no minimum contract terms or cancellation periods. You are also not required to make any payments or use sipcall services.

The only obligations are the following:

  • The information provided during registration must be correct and complete.
  • The customer is required to keep their information up to date at all times.
  • The sipcall services must be used in accordance with applicable laws and recognized internet standards.

If a customer violates these rules, sipcall reserves the right to delete the user account at any time without prior notice.

I am being harassed by phone calls. What can I do?

You can block the caller:

  • If the caller's number is displayed, you can block it. To do so, log in to the sipcall customer portal (login.sipcall.ch) → click on the “Phone numbers” menu → select the affected number → in the “Locksets” section, click “EDIT” → in the “Block incoming calls” section, enter the number to be blocked according to the instructions and click “ADD FILTER”.
info

You can also block all anonymous callers in the same section as described above, under "Hidden numbers".

Afterward, you can report the caller to us for further investigation.
You can find the corresponding form and procedure here.

Does sipcall offer an SMS/WhatsApp Business service?

No. sipcall does not offer this service.

I have one email address, but multiple sipcall accounts. How can I log in to different accounts using the same email address?

You can use so-called "+" addressing (subaddressing). This allows you to add a plus sign and an arbitrary tag after your email name – e.g., your phone number. All emails still arrive in your existing mailbox, but you have a separate login email address for each sipcall account.

Example:

  • Account 1: yourname+0442005000@gmail.com
  • Account 2: yourname+0324440000@gmail.com
