This guide explains how to download the sipcall app to your smartphone and configure or provision the desired sipcall phone number in just a few simple steps.

Installation Guide

Download and Installation

Download the free sipcall app from the Apple Store to your smartphone.

System Requirements

iOS 16 or higher

Configuration

The configuration steps may vary slightly depending on the portal and product. Select your combination:

  1. Log in to your personal sipcall user account via the sipcall customer portal.
  2. Navigate to the Phone numbers menu.

  1. Click on the desired phone number for which you want to configure the sipcall app.
  2. In the configuration overview of the sipcall number, click the "Edit" button in the "sipcall app" card.

  1. You can now directly scan the QR code in the "sipcall app for smartphone" card using the sipcall app.

  1. Once the configuration/provisioning has been successfully completed, the app will be displayed in the "Registered device" card of the configured phone number. If needed, use the refresh button to reload the current registrations. If the sipcall app is not shown here, the app is not active.

warning

If you regenerate the VoIP password for an already registered phone number, the configuration must be repeated for that number.

tip

If you encounter issues during provisioning, you also have the option to manually enter the SIP credentials after manually opening the sipcall app.

General Features

= Speed dial
= Contact
= Keypad
= Call history

App Permissions

When opening the sipcall app for the first time, you will be asked to grant various permissions.
For optimal functionality, please allow all requested permissions.

Battery Life Information

Since all incoming calls are received via battery-friendly push notifications, you can completely close the sipcall app after successfully scanning the QR code.

Restarting the Smartphone

After restarting your smartphone, we recommend opening the sipcall app once to ensure that push notifications function properly again.

SIP or RTP Traffic Information

Please note that some Wi-Fi or mobile network providers may block SIP or RTP traffic, which can limit the use of the sipcall app.
Using the sipcall app over mobile data may also incur charges from your mobile provider.

Activating DND (Do Not Disturb)

In the "Speed Dial," "Keypad," and "Call History" sections, you will find the "sipcall button" in the top left corner.
By tapping this button, you can activate the "DND" feature. When DND is active, all incoming calls are declined and shown as missed calls in the call history.
Notification sounds for incoming messages are also suppressed. The active DND status is shown on the "sipcall button" in the top left corner.

Using the Busy Lamp Field (BLF)

The busy lamp field feature only works for other phone numbers that are part of the same shared account (Pro or Business account).
It doesn't matter which device is registered to the other number.
To use this feature, go to the "Speed Dial" menu, tap "Edit" in the top right, and then tap the orange plus icon in the bottom right corner.
You can optionally add a profile picture and a name.
In the "Phone Number" field, enter the sipcall number in canonical format (e.g., 41442005000) and enable the "Busy Lamp Field" feature.
Save the entry by tapping "Save" and then "Done".

You will now see the newly added person. If they are currently on a call, their status will turn green and display "On Call".
If they are not on a call, their status will appear gray with the label "Off Call".

Using the Voicebox

If you have set up a voicebox for your number and the setting "Email Dispatch - Action" is set to "None" or "Copy",
you will receive a push notification as soon as someone leaves a voicemail message.
In addition, a blue number badge will appear in the top left corner of the sipcall app, showing the number of new voicemails.
When you are in the "Keypad" menu, an additional button will appear, allowing you to listen to and delete your messages.

Office 365 Contact Integration

Tap the "Contacts" icon and switch from the "Address Book" tab to "Office365".

You can now connect to your Microsoft account by tapping "Sign In".
All contacts from the main contact folder will be synced regularly.
Please note that contacts from subfolders or shared folders cannot be synced at this time.
