MicroSIP

This guide explains how to download the "MicroSIP" application on your device and configure or provision your desired sipcall phone number in a few simple steps.

Download​

The installation file for the "MicroSIP" application can be found at https://www.microsip.org/downloads. After successfully downloading the file, run it and complete the installation to proceed to the next step.

Registration​

Open the "MicroSIP" application on your device and start the account setup by clicking the arrow in the top right corner. Then, click on the menu item "Add Account...".

The configuration data can be found in the customer portal under "Phone numbers" -> "Phone number overview". Click on the desired phone number to view the configuration data (within the "SIP-Data" card).

  • Account Name: <Freely selectable>
  • SIP Server: <SIP-Server>
  • Username: <Username>
  • Domain: <SIP-Server>
  • Login: <Username>
  • Password: <VoIP-Password>
  • Transport: UDP
  • Keep-Alive: 30

Complete the account setup by clicking the "Save" button.

After successful setup and login, a green phone icon with the label "Online" will appear in the bottom left corner.

Configuration​

Codec​

Open the settings of the "MicroSIP" application by clicking the arrow in the top right corner, then selecting the "Settings" menu.

Navigate to the "Available Codecs" or "Enabled Codecs" section and configure the audio codecs in the following order:

  1. G.722 16 kHz
  2. G.711 A-law
  3. G.711 u-law

The order in the "Enabled Codecs" box, as well as moving codecs between the two boxes, can be adjusted by selecting and moving them using the arrow keys.

Disable the "rport" checkbox by unchecking it.

Complete the codec adjustments by clicking the "Save" button.

Testing​

Now test your VoIP application by making both an incoming and an outgoing call.

Calls to other sipcall numbers are possible without a balance, while calls to paid landline or mobile networks require sufficient funds in your sipcall account.
