Linphone Desktop
This guide explains how to download the "Linphone Desktop" application on your device and configure or provision your desired sipcall phone number in a few simple steps.
Download
The installation file for the "Linphone Desktop" application can be found at https://www.linphone.org/en/download/ in the section "Download the Linphone app". After successfully downloading the file, run it and complete the installation to proceed to the next step.
Registration
Open the "Linphone Desktop" application on your device and start the account setup using the account wizard.
The configuration data can be found in the customer portal under "Phone numbers" -> "Phone number overview". Click on the desired phone number to view the configuration data (within the "SIP-Data" card).

Complete the account setup by clicking the "USE" button.
Configuration
Codec
Next, open the "Preferences" menu in the "Linphone Desktop" application.
Click on the "Audio" menu in the orange bar and configure the "Audio codecs" in the following order:
- G722
- PCMA
- PCMU
The order can be changed by pressing and holding the respective codecs. Disable all other codecs by toggling the switch in the "Status" column to off.
Complete the codec adjustments by clicking the "OK" button in the bottom right corner.
Testing
Now test your VoIP application by making both an incoming and an outgoing call.
Calls to other sipcall numbers are possible without a balance, while calls to paid landline or mobile networks require sufficient funds in your sipcall account.
