AVM FRITZ!Box

This installation guide explains how to configure your device via the web interface. To access the web interface, enter the IP address of your device into the address bar of your web browser.

If you do not know how to locate the IP address of your device, please refer to the instructions/information in the manufacturer's manual.

Determine IP address

If you have a FRITZ!Box registered in your network, no IP address is needed. If multiple FRITZ!Box devices are registered in your network, you can determine the IP address using your FRITZ!Fon by following the instructions below:

  • On your FRITZ!Fon, go to the menu by pressing the "Menu" button
  • Select "Start Screens" and confirm by pressing "OK"
  • Select "FRITZ!Box" from the list and confirm by pressing "OK"
  • The required IP address will be displayed here

If you do not know how to locate the IP address of your device, please refer to the instructions/information in the manufacturer's manual.

Registration

Select the "Telephony" tab and navigate to the "Telephone Numbers" menu.

Click on "New Telephone Number" to set up a new sipcall phone number.

The configuration data can be found in the customer portal under "Phone numbers" -> "Phone number overview". Click on the desired phone number to view the configuration data (within the "SIP-Data" card).

Telephony provider selection

Starting with FRITZ!OS 8.0, it is possible to register phone numbers through the sipcall telephony provider.
Skip the next section and go directly to the sipcall profile section.

Telephone number for registration: <Username>
Internal telephone number in the FRITZ!box: <Username>

Username: <Username>
Authentication name: <Username>
Password: <VoIP-Password>
Registrar: <SIP-Server>

Under "Additional Settings for the Connection," enable the option "Always register via an internet connection".

Click "Next" to complete the entry.

Configuration

Phone number format

Click on the pencil icon next to the desired phone number under the "Telephone Numbers" menu, then scroll to the "Telephone Number Format" section to adjust the phone number format.

Adjust the phone number format as follows:

Enable port forwarding on the internet router

This setting may be required if issues arise with incoming calls.

Select the "Telephony" tab and navigate to the "Telephone Numbers" menu.

Click on the "Connection Settings" tab and scroll to the "Telephony Connection" section.

Click on the "Line Settings" tab and scroll to the "Telephony Connection" section.

Click on "Change the Settings" in the "Telephony Connection" section.

Enable the setting "Keep port sharing of the internet router enabled for telephony" and set the value for "Keep port forwarding enabled every" to "30 sec.".

After that, click "Apply" to save this change.

Sipcall Profile

Starting with FRITZ!OS 8.0, it is possible to register a phone number through the sipcall telephony provider profile.

On the left pane, select the "Telephony" tab and navigate to the "Telephone Numbers" menu item.

Then, click on "New Phone Number."

The configuration data can be found in the customer portal under "Phone numbers" -> "Phone number overview". Click on the desired phone number to view the configuration data (within the "SIP-Data" card).

Telephony provider: sipcall
Telephone number: <Area code> <Phone number>

Set the "Transport protocol" to UDP under "Additional connection settings."

Click "Next" to complete the entry.

Testing

Now test your VoIP phone by making both an incoming and outgoing call.

Calls to other sipcall numbers are possible without credit, while calls to paid landline or mobile networks require a sufficient balance on your sipcall account.
