Failover Forwarding

If your telephone system loses registration with our SIP servers due to an unforeseen event (e.g. internet outage or technical issue), or responds with an error message, you have the option to set up a fallback.

note

Failover forwarding also takes effect if the lines of your telephone system are busy or rejected.

tip

In such cases, forward the calls internally to an IVR or a voicemail box of your telephone system.

1. Capture failover forwarding

To configure a fallback, go to Phone NumbersPhone Number Overview and select the desired number on which the fallback should be set up.

In the Forwarding card, click on Edit.

Start the fallback configuration by clicking on Add redirect.

  • Designation: Fallback Forwarding
  • Forward to:
    • Internal phone number: Forwarding to a number within the same customer account
    • External phone number: Forwarding to an external number
  • Ring time in sec.: 15
  • Calling party display: Caller number & display name
  • Active times: Every day

Once the fallback forwarding has been configured, complete the setup by clicking Save.

2. Enable forwarding

Navigate back to the selected phone number and in the Action incoming calls card, click the pencil icon.

In the Action drop-down, select the option Ring, then forward. Enter a high value in the Timeout field (e.g. 300).
